:: Naga Population Data
The good folks over in Naga City are using GIS and Google Earth to visualize city data. The image above shows the city's population. You can download the kmz from googleearthphilippines via this link.Our thanks to Willy B. Priles (Coordinator, Reinventing the Naga City School Board Project) for the kmz file.

Actually, it's the work of Senen Ebio, our former EDP head, who's now working in the private sector. :)
Which brings up an important point: We do want to give credit where credit is due. Especially in the Google Earth Philippines wiki-- www.googleearthphilippines.pbwiki.com . We try to attribute KMZs and other material to the earliest poster we can track back to, and not just (or necessarily) to those who email or post the files on the web. Very often this is possible but, as in all things, feel free to help us in getting the attributions right.
Thanks for this, Willy.

Wow! Thanks, Senen. It's pretty clear that Naga City is ahead in the game. Would be interested in the process you undertook to have something like this up and working--and I imagine you won't even call this the end of your efforts. Certainly eager to see the updated renders. But even before that, I think this is a wonderful example that other LGUs should appreciate, in terms of exploiting new technology for local development.
Congrats.
The KMZ has been posted on the Google Earth Philippines wiki, btw.
